Tsunami In Indonesia: Death toll at 832 and expected to rise sharply.

The confirmed death toll from the earthquake and tsunami that struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi has risen to 832, and the vice-president, Jusuf Kalla, has warned it could reach into the thousands. More than 150 aftershocks followed the 7.4 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami which hit Sulawesi on Friday, causing thousands of homes, hotels, shopping malls and several mosques to collapse. So far, 821 of the deaths were in the city of Palu, with 11 casualties recorded in Donggala, the worst-hit area which is home to 300,000 people. Hundreds of bodies have been found on beaches and authorities fear many may have been washed out to sea. Speaking at a press conference, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the spokesman for the BNBP disaster agency, said the area affected was much bigger than originally thought. The deaths are believed to be still increasing since many bodies were still under the wreckage while many have not able to be reached,” said Sutopo, emphasising that acces

The video was sent to France 24 Observers, a citizen journalism initiative, in July. After seeing the video, the journalists flagged the attention of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which helps organise voluntary returns from Libyan detention camps. The migrants returned to Nigeria on August 30. "If not for that video we wouldn't have been able to come back to Nigeria, I believe that," Efe Onyeka

Bizarre moment professor accidentally plays hardcore porn to 500 students in packed lecture hall.

A UNI professor was left red-faced after accidentally beaming porn through a lecture room projector for all his students to see. About 500 students had turned up for an introductory psychology class - but instead got an explicit lesson in human anatomy and sexual behaviour. Footage taken of the mortifying debacle shows shocked students, aghast at the spectacle of a porn film coming on by mistake and seemingly taking a good few, excruciating seconds to rectify. Some found it hilarious, while others can be seen getting up to leave. The blunder happened during the lecture at the University of Toronto’s Scarborough Campus where the professor inadvertently screened the porno to the packed hall on Monday morning, according to reports. The campus newspaper The Varsity said one of the students reportedly recorded the mishap on Snapchat and posted it elsewhere online, where unsurprisingly it was shared, many, many times. The school said it was offering support to anyone who was

She says she wants to keep the two boys, ages 6 and 9, in Roseville schools. “He never had a problem or a complaint with me in the 14 months I’ve been here,” Kearns told the Star Tribune. “Then two days after I stick up for myself and tell him that there’s nothing in the lease that says I can’t put up a sign, he wants me out.” Her landlord, Barry Star, gave her 60 days to vacate after she placed the Black Lives Matter sign in the window. The landlord said he received complaints from other residents in the brownstone. “I have to think about other tenants and try to protect them and keep them happy,” Star told the newspaper. “The biggest issue i

Milan Fashion Week had models with three breasts and other crazy things we’ve seen on the runway.

GCDS (which stands for “God Can’t Destroy Streetwear”) debuted their neon collection of streetwear at their spring/summer 2019 show this week. All the models donned sports bras, bicycle shorts, and boots. But the big difference was that two of the models also had a third boob (complete with the nipples) under their sports bras. GCDS creative director, Giuliano Calza, spoke to WWD about the collection’s dystopian inspiration—which WWD describes as “a day when all the computers crash and society has to look back and appreciate the old way of doing things.” Giuliano said: "We’re a young group here—we’re all under 30—and I wanted to talk to people our age about the future and get them thinking about plastics, water shortage, and the environment. Full sustainability is impossible, and I wanted this show to be a wake-up call." While a third breasts is certainly something to send a message, it’s still not the only crazy thing we’ve seen on the runway. In February,
