WWE Appoints Paul Heyman & Eric Bischoff Executive Directors Of Raw And Smackdown LIVE.

In an announcement that seemingly came out of nowhere, WWE has appointed former ECW founder Paul Heyman and ex-WCW President Eric Bischoff executive directors of Raw and SmackDown respectively. Sports Illustrated was the first to break the news. “Heyman is set to become Executive Director of Monday Night Raw, while Bischoff will fill the same role for SmackDown Live. Both will report directly to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. WWE confirmed the news with Sports Illustrated, with an official announcement expected later . The two positions are full-time executive roles, with no plans at the current time for this to be introduced as part of a TV storyline.”

Ondo Gets New Head Of Service.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has approved the appointment of Oluwadare Aragbaiye as the state’s Head of Service (HOS). The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Aragbaiye replaces the former HOS, Toyin Akinkuotu. A statement issued in Akure, the state capital on Friday by Olusegun Ajiboye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the approval of the appointment was in line with the provisions of the Nigerian constitution. According to the statement, the appointment is in recognition of Mr Aragbaiye’s reliability and efficiency. “While congratulating the new Head of Service, Governor Akeredolu is convinced that he will provide the right leadership for the state public service to complement the efforts of the administration to reposition the public service. “Prior to his appointment as Head of Service, Oluwadare Aragbaiye was the Permanent Secretary, Government House and Protocol. “Aragbaiye joined the state public service in 1985 as an Administrativ

West African Nations Adopt Single Currency, Eco.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has formally agreed on a name for a planned common currency set to be launched in 2020. "ECO was adopted as the name of the ECOWAS single currency," representatives of the 15-member group agreed in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, on Saturday. "Afri" and "Kola" had been other names suggested that were rejected by the members. An ECOWAS statement said the aim was a "gradual approach to the single currency starting with countries that meet the convergent criteria." Currently, eight ECOWAS countries - Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo - jointly use the West African CFA franc, while the seven others, including Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, have their own separate currencies. Pastor Fatoyinbo's Wife Defends Him, As He Reveals Holy Spirit‘s Instruction.

During  church service today, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo , founder of the Commonwealth Zion Assembly ( COZA ), announced a suspension of “Seven Days of Glory,” a yearly programme of the church, saying the “Holy Spirit” directed him to do so. He added that his mentors and leaders have advised him to cancel the programme. He said he didn’t want to put the guest preachers through the stress of coming to COZA amid such allegations of rape. The pastor said he was unhappy about the scandal rocking the church. Fatoyinbo has been under pressure since Friday when Busola Dakolo accused him of raping her. Over 200 Dead As Australia Braces For Peak Flu Season.

The death toll from Australia's flu season has passed 200, with the authorities warning that the worst is yet to come. According to data released separately by Australia's six states and two territories, at least 228 people have already been killed by the flu and more than 100,000 have been infected compared to only 58,824 in 2018. "We're having one of our worst seasons so far... we expect the peak will come between July and September," Richard Kidd, chair of the Australian Medical Association Council of General Practice, told the Australian Associated Press on Saturday (June 29). "Influenza is nothing like the common cold, it's serious and can be lethal." The Economic Commission of West African States at its 55th Ordinary Session in Abuja took a historic step today to honour three women with excellence awards and giving them cash gifts. One of the beneficiaries was Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, who died after taking great risk to prevent Ebola virus from spreading in the city of Lagos after attending to a Liberian patient, Patrick Sawyer in her First Consultant Hospital, Ikoyi. She placed the man in quarantine despite pressures from the Liberian government. And she paid for it, contacting the virus and dying in August 2014 at the age of 57. The Super Eagles of Nigeria have emerged as the first team to qualify for the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. The Eagles beat the Syli Nationale of Guinea by a lone goal to zoom into the round of 16 with a game to spare. Eminem's estranged father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., has died, according to a report from TMZ. He was 67. Eminem, whose legal name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, has frequently rapped about his non-relationship with his dad, whom he says he has never met. The elder Mathers left Em and his mother, Debbie, when Mathers was just a child. In his 2002 single "Cleanin' Out My Closet," which is primarily about his turbulent relationship with his mother, Eminem addresses his father leaving at an early age. Ekiti state government has appointed the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as the Chancellor of the state-owned Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti. The Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs in the institution, Mr Bode Olofinmuagun, on Monday confirmed the development to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Ado Ekiti, but did not give details. The traditional ruler replaces the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti, Oba Adegoke Olu Adeyemi who held the office for four years during the last administration of former Gov. Ayo Fayose. Court sentences Togolese cook to life imprisonment over murder of Credit Switch boss.

The Lagos State High Court sentenced a Togolese cook, Sunday Adefonou Anani, to life imprisonment for the murder of his boss and Chief Executive Officer of Credit Switch Ltd, Ope Bademosi. Anani had confessed to the court that he stabbed Bademosi to death in his Ikoyi, Lagos home, on 31 October, 2018 while trying to rob him. The convict also admitted that he was the person caught on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) fleeing the scene of the crime, after the murder.He was originally arraigned on a two-count charge of murder and armed robbery which could have fetched him a sentence of death by hanging on conviction, but he struck a plea bargain deal with the Lagos State Government soon after the trial commenced. Zimbabwe Bans Use Of U.S. Dollars, Others.

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has with effect from  24th June 2019, banned the use of foreign currencies as legal tender in Zimbabwe. This was announced in a Statutory Instrument 142 of 2019. The government gazette instructs that the United States Dollar, Botswana Pula and South Africa Rand are no longer legal tender in Zimbabwe. The SI reads in part: Subject to section 3, with effect from 24th June 2019, the British pound, United States dollars, South African rand, Botswana pula and any other foreign currency whatsoever shall no longer be legal tender alongside the Zimbabwe dollar in any transactions in Zimbabwe. Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife Beth Chapman is in a medically induced coma, NBC News reports. Chapman, 51, underwent successful surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her throat in 2017. Doctors announced her throat cancer had returned last year. Dog the Bounty Hunter, whose real name is Duane Chapman, announced the news on Twitter.com early Sunday. Duane, 66, also tweeted out to friends and supporters to pray for Chapman. Chapman was admitted to the ICU at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to an Hawaiian newspaper article. BREAKING: Strong Earthquake Hits Indonesia’s Banda Sea.

A strong earthquake has struck in Indonesia's Banda Sea, but authorities say there is no tsunami threat. The US Geological Survey said the magnitude 7.3 quake was centred 208km below the earth's surface. It was felt in parts of Indonesia and in East Timor's capital Dili but there were no reports of damage. Indonesia's geophysics agency said the deep quake - originally reported as 7.5 magnitude - didn't cause a tsunami. The Banda Sea quake was recorded shortly after a 6.1 trembler in a thinly populated area 233km west of Papua's Abepura at a depth of 20km. Rahmat Triyono, Indonesia's head of earthquake and tsunami centre, said the Papua quake was followed by several smaller aftershocks, but there were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries. Immigration Arrests Begin Sunday; 2000+ Migrant Families Targeted In 10 Major U.S. Cities.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will begin knocking on doors and arresting illegal immigrants in pre-dawn raids on Sunday. ICE has targeted 2040 migrant families in 10 major cities across the United States. ICE raids will begin before dawn on Sunday in cities including Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Denver, Houston, L.A., New Orleans, NYC, and San Francisco, said officials who spoke to MSN News on condition of anonymity. President Donald Trump announced the upcoming raids in a tweet on Monday night, saying U.S. immigration agents will remove "millions" of illegal aliens. "Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States. Officials say ICE agents will begin rounding up and arresting illegal immigrants who defied deportation orders or failed to show up for deportation hearings.

Malaysia-based Nigerian Man ASSASSINATED At Home After Returning To Nigeria For The First Time In 9 Years.

A Nigerian man, Arthur Eze, was recently assassinated in his home on his visit to Nigeria According to media reports, he came  to Nigeria on a visit after spending 9 years in Malaysia. According to Facebook user, Emeka Augustine, who appears to be a dear friend, Eze had just returned to Nigeria on a visit after spending 9 years in Malaysia. However, what was a beautiful reunion with his family turned tragic when he was assassinated in his home. Sharing photos of the deceased, Augustine wrote:  " Going back to Nigeria for the first time after 9 years and you guys killed him in his house. He suffered and slept outside for year and finally made it and go home only to met his death. My man my man. What a world. Arthur Eze rest in peace. Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the Round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup holding in France. They will now face European powerhouse Germany on the 22nd of June for a place in the quarter-finals. The Super Falcons are in a way, indebted to the Thailand Women‘s team for their qualification as the Asians did well enough to lose just 2-0 to Chile. Drake Maverick Is Getting Married, Featuring the 24/7 Title.

Drake Maverick is set to get married this weekend, and some of his WWE cohorts are in the wedding party. Maverick recently  posted photos from his apparent wedding , holding his newly won 24/7 Championship. Featured as groomsmen are EC3 and Braun Strowman. When Maverick beat R-Truth for the title on SmackDown, he drove away and said that he was off to get married. With the wedding being mentioned on air and Maverick posing with the title in wedding photos, we’ll see if WWE actually does some 24/7 title wedding segments for TV. Maverick is marrying fellow wrestler Renee Michelle, who wrestled in the Mae Young Classic in 2017, losing to Candice LeRae in the first round.

NAFDAC Bans Sniper In Open Markets, Supermarkets.

The National Food, Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has ordered agro-dealers to withdraw popular agricultural pesticide, Sniper  from open markets and supermarkets. NAFDAC’s Director, Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr. Bukar Usman, disclosed this on Wednesday at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan. Usman, speaking during the launch of a new herbicide for cassava farmers, “Lifeline”, by UPL, Sprinfield Agro and IITA, said that the agency had asked agro-dealers to stop the sale of the product in open markets and supermarkets. According to him, sniper is an agro-cultural product meant to be used only in the farms and not for households. Rivers State University Lecturer Was Attacked By Armed Robbers -Police.

A professor at the Rivers State University (RSU), Emmanuel Amadi, a lecturer at the Department of Microbiology has been killed in his house at Rumuorlumeni, Port Harcourt, the state capital. It was rumoured that some suspected armed robbers killed him in the early hours of yesterday. Port Harcourt has been an area notorious for criminal activities, especially incessant kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, and assassination. Some of the residents appealed to security agencies to capture and arraign the killers in the court of law. However, the spokesman for RSU, Mr. Sydney Enyindah, confirmed the news and said it was a great loss to the university. Two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has undergone surgery and will likely be out of action the rest of this year, according to a report from ESPN.com . Cejudo (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) tore the subscapularis muscle in his shoulder, which is a part of the rotator cuff, in the first round of his title-winning fight against Marlon Moraes earlier this month at UFC 238. Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, told MMA Junkie the recovery process will sideline him for five to six months, meaning he’s done fighting for the rest of the year. Medical suspensions issued for the fight card in Chicago showed Cejudo needed a physician’s clearance but didn’t specify his injury.
