Dog the Bounty Hunter’s wife Beth Chapman in medically induced coma.

Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife Beth Chapman is in a medically induced coma, NBC News reports. Chapman, 51, underwent successful surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her throat in 2017.

Doctors announced her throat cancer had returned last year.

Dog the Bounty Hunter, whose real name is Duane Chapman, announced the news on Twitter.com early Sunday. Duane, 66, also tweeted out to friends and supporters to pray for Chapman.

Chapman was admitted to the ICU at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to an Hawaiian newspaper article.

The Chapmans are best known for their popular A&E reality TV show "Dog the Bounty Hunter," which followed the Chapmans and their 12 children as they pursued bail jumpers.

The show was cancelled in 2007 after Duane apologized for making a racial slur in a phone call to his son that was made public by the National Enquirer.

The show was eventually picked up again by A&E in 2007 but its eight year run ended in 2012. In 2013, the Chapmans starred in a spinoff titled "Dog and Beth: On the Hunt", which aired on CMT from 2013 to 2015.

Earlier this month, the Chapmans announced a new series titled "Dog's Most Wanted" that is set to debut on WGN.

Beth Chapman has been a licensed bondsman since age 21. She was the youngest license holder in the entire state of Colorado.

She married Duane in 2012.
