Nine Killed In Benue By Armed Militia.

At least nine people in Tse Ujoh, a community in Ikyurav-Tiev in Katsina Alla Local Government Area of Benue State, were killed on Friday morning.

According to Moses Yamu, spokesman of the Benue State Police command, who confirmed the incident, three people have been arrested in connection with the attack.

Samuel Ortom, Governor of the state, condemned the attack and urged communities in the Sankera area of the state to assist security operatives with useful information to end the attacks on innocent people by armed militia.

He described the attack as unacceptable, confirming that troops had been deployed to the affected area to bring the situation under control.

He also assured the people of Katsina-Ala that steps had been taken to prevent further attacks in the area.

“Governor Ortom reassures the people of the state that his administration will not allow armed militia to continue to terrorize communities,” Terver Akase, his Chief Press Secretary, said in a statement.

“He encourages anyone with information that can lead to the apprehension of the gang members to contact the police, Department of State Service or the military.”
