The police in Lagos have reportedly arrested one Reverend Ezuma Chizemdere, for allegedly sodomising teenage boys and infecting one of them with human immunodeficiency virus in the process. The reverend, who is the founder of Jesus Intervention Household Ministry located in the Ejigbo area of the state, was reportedly a member of a syndicate perpetrating the alleged crime in the neighbourhood. A baby boy has died after falling into a bucket of scalding water as his mum prepared a bath. Medics were unable to save Daniil Chernenko after he suffered burns to 80% of his body. Seidu Adeyemi, the boyfriend of Miss Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, has been sentenced to death. Adeyemi was sentenced to death by hanging on Wednesday by an Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure. Khadijat had been declared missing by her parents, and her decomposing corpse later found in a shallow grave under a bed at Adeyemi's Aratunsi residence in Oke Aro of Akure in July 2018. Khadijat, popularly known as 'Princess Nikky', was also a final-year student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), before she was brutally murdered. On July 10, 2018, Adeyemi was nabbed by a special team of detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ondo State Police Command in Akure over Khadijat's death. A High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo state, has sentenced Chukwudi Onweniwe to death by hanging for killing his girlfriend, Nifemi Adeyeoye, an HND student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo. Chukwudi Onweniwe was brought before the court on a four-count charge of endangering life, kidnapping and abduction, rape and murder. According to the prosecutor, Jumoke Ogunjebi, Chukwudi abducted the deceased and took her “to a farm near Alayere, Ogbese, raped her and then snuffed life out of her by choking and strangulating her to death.” It was a motorcyclist who reported the suspicious movement of the accused person and the deceased at the Police station. A three-storey building has reportedly collapsed in Kakawa street, Lagos Island on Monday. According to the Lagos State Management Agency (LASEMA), no one was trapped in the rubbles. Occupants of the collapsed building have been exiting all apartments and shops attached to the building after the Lagos State building control agency marked the building for demolition last week Friday. A science teacher from rural Kenya, who gives away most of his salary to support poorer pupils, has won a $1m prize (£760,000) for the world’s best teacher. Peter Tabichi, a member of the Franciscan religious order, won the 2019 Global Teacher Prize. Brother Peter has been praised for his achievements in a deprived school with crowded classes and few text books. He wants pupils to see “science is the way to go” for their futures. National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on Sunday night raided Davis Hotel, Lugbe, Abuja. Mr Josiah Emerole, NAPTIP’s Director of Investigation said that the operatives rescued three girls and arrested 20 suspects over alleged forced prostitution. He said that the hotel, located in Tundun Wada area of Lugbe, was identified as a notorious spot where underage girls were kept for prostitution. Some of the girls, however, pleaded innocence, while explaining that they were arrested while running errands. “Part of our job is to rescue underaged persons who are being exploited and arrest suspects. “Davis Hotel has been in our radar for some time and we have rescued some underage girls from the facility in the past. “The NAPTIP Act frowns at facilities where young girls are harboured and exploited for prostitution,” Emerole said. She has hinted at possibly returning alongside sister Brie Bella for a return of Twin Magic and a stab at WWE’s new Women’s Tag Team Titles, but hey, that is not going to happen.
