Suspicious packages containing explosive devices were sent to the homes of former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton this week.
The U.S. Secret Service intercepted a suspicious package mailed to the residence of Barack Obama on Tuesday. A day later, an explosive device was found in the mailbox outside the Chappaqua, New York home of former President Bill and Hillary Clinton, the former U.S. secretary and 2016 presidential candidate.
Bomb technicians found explosive powder and a device similar to a pipe bomb inside the package found outside the Clinton’s home. The package was detonated as a precaution.
Also on Tuesday, a bomb was placed in the mailbox outside the home of billionaire globalist and socialist George Soros’s home.
An official told the Associated Press they were reviewing video footage from the areas to determine whether the packages arrived by mail or were placed in the mailboxes by a domestic terrorist.
President Trump was briefed on the packages discovered so close to the midterm elections.
“We condemn the attempted violent attacks recently made against President Obama, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and other public figures,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, in a statement from the President.
She said the packages were “despicable” and she vowed to hold the terrorists responsible to the full extent of the law.
The homes of former presidents are guarded by Secret Service agents. It isn’t clear how anyone got close enough to deliver the bombs.
