Man charged with 5-year-old girl's molestation at East Chicago home.



An East Chicago man is accused of molesting a 5-year-old female relative.

Qwanya S. Robinson was charged Wednesday in Lake Criminal Court with two counts of child molestation and incest.

East Chicago police were dispatched Monday to a residence in the 3700 block of Fir Street after receiving reports Robinson was found in bed with the female relative. Both of them were nude, court records state.

The girl was transported to St. Catherine's Hospital for a forensic examination. Robinson allegedly told an officer he was masturbating when the girl entered the room, records state.

The girl was interviewed by the Lake County sheriff's office special victims unit. She told authorities Robinson had stuck his “bad thing” in her and ejaculated, records state.

Robinson was arrested Monday. He is held at Lake County Jail without bond, records state.
