The Niger State Police Command has arrested Shuaibu Ibrahim,35, of Safiu village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State with a human eyeball. According to the police report, operatives attached to the Gawu Babangida Division in Gurara Local Government Area arrested Ibrahim. It was learnt that the police operatives apprehended the suspect in the early hours of Thursday following a tip-off from a member of the public. The eyeball was said to have been removed from a victim of a communal clash between the Igbira and Bassa people in Nasarawa State. Northern City News gathered that one Ojo, now at large, reportedly gave the eyeball to the suspect to sell in Niger State for N250,000. Traces of poop have been found on a number of McDonald’s touchscreen kiosks, an investigation has found. The burger chain has added self-service kiosks that let customers tap what they want on the touchscreen before picking up their orders from the counter. And when the U.K. news site asked researchers at London Metropolitan University to test the screens at eight McDonald’s restaurants, including six in London and two in Birmingham, every one of them had coliforms, or the bacteria found in feces. A screen at one branch had traces of staphylococcus, a bacteria that can cause blood poisoning and toxic shock syndrome. Listeria, which can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women, was also found. ‘We were all surprised how much gut and fecal bacteria there was on the touchscreen machines,” Dr Paul Matawele, a senior lecturer in microbiology at London Metropolitan University, told Metro. “These cause the kind of infections that people pick up in hospitals.” Klebsiell

Salome Zurabishvili has been elected president of Georgia, becoming the first woman to take the post in the Caucasus country’s history. Sunday Anani, the suspected killer of late Chairman of Credit Switch Technology Limited, Chief Ope Bademosi, is not dead. “I have confirmed that he is in the prison and he is doing fine. There is nothing wrong with him,”  The spokesperson for the Nigerian Prisons Service, Lagos Command, Rotimi Oladokun confirmed. There had been reports that the 22-year-old died in prison custody. Anani allegedly killed Badamosi a few days after arriving in his house at Parkview Estate, Ikoyi. Upon his arrest in Ondo State, where he allegedly fled to after the incident, he was charged with one count of murder before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court. The case, which came up on November 12, 2018, was adjourned till December 18 pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Oshin ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison pending legal advice.

Judy Copeland, mother of WWE Hall of Famer Adam “Edge” Copeland, has passed away. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Edge shared several photos of his mother with a written tribute to honor his “rock.” “ She never doubted me. This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live took place from Minneapolis, and it was an action packed show. WWE Superstars Cedric Alexander and Lince Dorado shared some disheartening news early Wednesday morning on social media. While their rental car was parked at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota for Tuesday night's tapings of SmackDown Live and 205 Live, somebody broke in by smashing one of the windows. No word yet on what was taken from the car other than a fanny pack Dorado owned. This isn’t the first time a WWE Superstar was robbed, especially recently. Three migrants were found dead Tuesday on a railway track in northern Greece, apparently killed by a train whilst asleep, local police said. The bodies were spotted by the train driver near the village of Fylakio, which lies between the cities of Alexandroupolis and Komotini, near the Greek border with Turkey. Police said they were unable to immediately identify the victims. The area lies on a migration route into Greece from Turkey that has been increasingly used by smugglers. Greek authorities have recorded over 14,000 irregular entries across the Turkish border so far this year, compared to some 5,500 in 2017. The sharp increase in overland arrivals has been accompanied by successive deadly accidents in the north of the country, as illegal networks cram dozens of migrants into cars driven by teenagers. Over a dozen refugees and migrants have been killed in such accidents in the last two months.

The Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday defeated the Three Lionesses of Cameroon to qualify for the final of the 2018 African Women Cup Of Nations (AWCON). The match ended in penalties with the Falcons winning 4-2. The highly competitive semi-final match in the Ghanaian stadium ended 0-0 after 90 minutes of football. South Africa has increased its minimum wage to N126,480, while Nigeria still struggles with the N30K minimum wage demand by workers in the country. President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa who disclosed that the new minimum wage will take full effect from January 1, 2019, added that it would benefit about six million workers that currently earn R3,700 (N97,495). While one South African Rand exchanges for N26.35, this means that South African workers would be earning N527 per hour: N4,216 per day and N126,480 per month, while their Nigerian colleagues are currently earn N75 per hour, which is N600 per day (at eight working hours per day) and N18,000 per month. However if paid N30,000 as minimum wage, Nigerian workers would be earning N125 per hour or N1,000 per day, which amounts to N30,000 monthly. SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg has died at the age of 57. The news was confirmed by Nickelodeon, which has broadcast the hugely popular cartoon series since 1999. In a statement, the company said Hillenburg's cause of death was motor neurone disease (also known as ALS) - a condition he revealed he had been diagnosed with in March last year. As well as creating the character, Hillenburg also directed 2004's The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. "We are sad to share the news of the passing of Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants," Nickelodeon tweeted from its official account. Oprah Winfrey’s mother, Vernita Lee, has died at age 83. TMZ was the first to exclusively confirm the news. Vernita Lee died on Thanksgiving Day at her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the age of 83. The cause of death has not yet been determined. Lee is survived by 64-year-old Winfrey, whom she shared with Vernon Winfrey, and her daughter, Patricia Amanda Faye Lee. Additionally, she is survived by her four grandchildren -- Alisha Hayes, Chrishaunda Lee Perez, Aquarius Lofton and Andre Brown -- and four great grandchildren -- Jaxon Praise Perez, Chai Theresa Perez, Donovan Hayes and Trinity Hayes.  Her son, Jeffrey Lee, died in 1989 and her other daughter, Patricia Lee Lloyd, died in 2003.

US border patrol agents have arrested 42 Central American migrants who crossed the southern frontier from Mexico, Chief Patrol Agent Rodney Scott said on Monday (Nov 26). "Forty-two people crossed the border and were arrested. To be completely frank there were numerous people who actually made it across the border," Scott, of the San Diego Sector Border Patrol, told CNN, adding that the majority of those detained were men. They were among a group of migrants mostly driven back - under tear gas and rubber bullet fire - when they tried to rush the border on Sunday from a camp where about 5,000, mostly from Honduras, are staying in hope of eventually becoming US residents. "We're in the process of building the new border wall here but we don't have it completed. Operatives of the Department of State Services, on Monday, rescued an American, Tawanda Lynn Jackson, who was held hostage by one Mathew Adedoyin, whom she had met on social media. Suspected Boko Haram gunmen kidnapped 15 girls overnight in a village near Toumour, southeastern Niger, the local mayor said on Saturday. Boukar Mani Orthe, the mayor of the town in Niger's Diffa region near the border with Nigeria, said about 50 unidentified armed men seized the girls in a village about nine kilometres from the town centre. On Thursday suspected Boko Haram fighters killed eight people working at French drilling company Foraco's water well site in Toumour. Boko Haram has been waging an insurrection since 2009 aimed at establishing an Islamic state in northeast Nigeria. It has launched repeated attacks into neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon. The violence has killed thousands of civilians and forced millions to flee their homes in the large Lake Chad basin region.

Samsung Electronics apologised Friday to workers who developed cancer after working at some of its factories, finally ending a decade-long dispute at the world's top chipmak. The D wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos would be shut by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Saturday. FAAN said the closure was necessary for the planned routine maintenance at the wing. The wing would be shut for two hours, starting from 10am till 12pm on Saturday. Tragedy struck in the Imo State University last night after a girl who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, committed suicide. According to reports, Jennifer Agomuo, a final year Computer Science student, stabbed her boyfriend, an Engineering student during an argument and when she thought she had killed him, she took a poison and died instantly. They were both was rushed to the Federal Medical Center Owerri where the girl was confirmed dead. The man is still in a coma.

On Wednesday, Chairman of Poshhills Entertainment, Olufemi Olusanya, popularly known as Femi Posh, and a bouncer, David Afari, were arraigned for allegedly stabbing Roy. Roy was allegedly attacked over a debt of N15 million owed by Wizkid to Club DNA. According to Vanguard, Posh, aged 38 and Afari, aged 29 are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful assault and grievous bodily harm after the incident last Thursday, when he visited the club to offset a part of Wizkid's debt. Wizkid is also said to owe N7 million for a pool party, and another N8 million. Inspector Joseph Jimoh, the Police prosecutor, made it known to the court that the offences are punishable under sections 411, 173 and 245 of the criminals laws of Lagos State 2015. Rachael Ostovich described a frightening scene in her petition for a temporary restraining order against her husband. Ostovich wrote in the petition, which was obtained by TMZ, that her husband Arnold Berdon punched her “repeatedly on the head, face, ribs, making me fall to the ground.” Ostovich went on to say that she “gasped for breath and escaped” through a balcony. “I coughed up blood, threw up [several] times,” wrote Ostovich, a UFC fighter. “Cracked orbital.” The temporary restraining order was requested and granted Tuesday in Hawaiian court. Berdon, also an MMA fighter, allegedly attacked Ostovich in the early morning hours Sunday after an argument at their home in the Waianae area of Honolulu County. An American is believed to have been killed by an isolated Indian island tribe known to fire at outsiders with bows and arrows. Police officer Vijay Singh said seven fishermen had been arrested for facilitating the American’s visit to North Sentinel Island, where the killing apparently occurred. Visits to the island are heavily restricted by the government. The Sentinelese people live on the small forested island. They are known to resist all contact with outsiders, often attacking anyone who comes near. Indian media reports said the American was on an adventure trip to the islands and his body had been spotted by the fishermen. Mr Singh said police were in the process of recovering the body. He said the man was killed on Saturday and he was investigating the case. Local media say he was a missionary. He has been identified as John Allen Chau.

A security man attached to Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, and two other suspects have been arrested over a missing student, whose decomposing body has been found with her tongue and breasts cut off. A gunman opened fire at a Chicago hospital on Monday, shooting three people, including a cop. No fewer than  11 persons  lost their lives  as a boat conveying 29 passengers  capsized on Tafa River, Maun 2 in Ipokia Local Government  Area of Ogun State. The Nigerian Military says it has killed one of the leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) – the Boko Haram factional group believed to have abducted Leah Sharibu. A statement from the Nigerian Army (NA) on Saturday revealed that the ISWAP media chief, Ahmad Sale, was neutralised in an operation by own troops in conjunction with personnel of the Nigerian Air Force. “Reports available reveal that one Sale Ahmad Sale a. k. a. Baban Hassan, the leader of Al-Barnawi media group, a faction of Boko Haram was killed by a joint operation conducted by the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force,” it said.
