Professional wrestler Jeff Hardy has been arrested for driving while impaired, (DWI) according to officials in North Carolina.
The 40-year-old WWE star crashed his car in Concord on Saturday at about 10.30pm, his arrest report shows.
He 'ran off the roadway to the right, in turn striking about 105ft of guardrail, before the back end of the car spun out 90 degrees to the left, coming to rest in the middle of the right northbound lane of travel', the report states.
Cabarrus County Court records show he will appear before a judge on April 16 and has already had his driving license revoked for at least 30 days.
The crash caused $8,000 of damage to his 2016 Cadillac and $5,000 to a guardrail, according to a police estimate reported by CBSSports.
It is not known whether Hardy was hurt in the crash, but he was released from jail not long after being charged and does not appear to have been sent to hospital.
It comes less than a month before WrestleMania 34, which is set for April 8 in New Orleans.
Hardy, one half of The Hardy Boyz tag team with his real-life brother Matt, has been out of the ring since September last year with an injury.
He was forced to undergo surgery for a torn labrum and rotator cuff.
As well as winning the tag team championships seven times, he has held the WWE championship. After several years away from the WWE, he and Matt made a surprise return to the company last year during Wrestlemania.
The musician and painter has had previous encounters with the law and a history of substance abuse, including when he was arrested in 2009 for possession of steroids and trafficking controlled prescription pills.
He was fined and spent 10 days in jail in 2011 after pleading guilty to the charges.
