Former supermodel & Reality TV star,Tyra Banks has gotten yet another home in Pacific Palisades, Calif., buying a 6,200-square-foot hillside mansion for $7 million.
Banks, 44, who made “smizing” (or “smiling with your eyes”) an art form, owns at least three other multimillion-dollar homes in the Southern California city, according to Variety. The contemporary house went on the market in September, and she bought it last month for full asking price through a trust attached to her mother, according to property records.
Built in 2014, the five-bedroom, six-bath home has a stacked architecture that is optimized to take in the expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and the Palisades upscale shopping and dining district below.
There are balconies on every level, and a roof deck complete with a hot tub, glass railings and a fire pit.
The kitchen has a chef’s island with seating for three, a gray marble waterfall edge and gas range. There’s sleek, gray cabinetry and a bank of windows looking out to the ocean. A double-sided fireplace separates the kitchen from the living room, which has a floor-to-ceiling glass wall that opens to the backyard and negative-edge swimming pool.
The master bedroom also has lovely views, along with built-in cabinets and a sitting area. There’s a deep walk-in closet, and the master bath has a soaking tub, floor-to-ceiling glass shower and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door.
The game room has a pool table, wet bar and movie projector with a 120-inch screen. Elsewhere, there’s a wine cellar that could easily fit 100 bottles.
Banks was born and raised in Southern California, and began modeling as a teenager. She appeared twice on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, in 1996 and 1997. She also worked as a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005. In 2003, she launched “America’s Next Top Model,” now in its 24th season. She’s also known for her daytime talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show,” which ran from 2005 to 2010.
