Kanye West joins 2020 US Presidential race.


The hip-hop icon officially announced he is joining the race to the White House on Saturday as the country was celebrating its National Day.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States," he tweeted, adding an emoji of the U.S. flag followed by the hashtag #2020Vision.

The surprise announcement soon turned into a top trending topic on Twitter, with Americans sharing their two cents about the prospect of West ending up in the Oval Office.
