Ismaila Mustapha, AKA Mompha has been granted N100m bail to by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday. Mompha was arraigned for alleged N33billion fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC). The suspect was arrested by the anti-graft agency on October 19 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Mompha, who had become popular on social media (Instagram) for flaunting a flamboyant lifestyle, was subsequently remanded in the anti-corruption agency’s custody after a court order. Furthermore, his Lebanese associate, alongside one other have been remanded in prison pending the continuation of their trial and bail application.

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter and Square, tweeted his farewell to Africa on Wednesday, but announced that he would return and temporarily move to the continent for at least three months in 2020. "Sad to be leaving the continentfor now," Dorsey tweeted on Wednesday. "Africa will define the future (especially the bitcoin one!). Not sure where yet, but I'll be living here for 3-6 months mid 2020." The bearded, 43-year-old tech exec was in Ethiopia this week, as part of a month-long tour across the continent that he tweeted he was making in October. He said he would be meeting with entrepreneurs in Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.

At least, four persons have reportedly died while scores have been hospitalised as a result of cholera outbreak that hit some parts of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.  The outbreak hit Abule-Otun, Lafenwa, Kuto, Idi-Aba, and Oke-Ijeun; causing panic among residents of the area. It was gathered that a woman and her child were the first casualties of the outbreak. They were reportedly rushed to a private hospital which later referred them to the state hospital. Some other people were reported to have lost their lives due to the outbreak. According to reports, many residents have also been affected. It was gathered that some residents were stooling and vomiting in the community. Some were said to have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, while others were taken to the state hospital. A gas explosion has been recorded at Ajegunle area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, with two children burnt to death and 23 others severely burnt. The incident occurred at Aduke Street, off Ojo Road, Ajegunle area of Apapa on Thursday. Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that two children were burnt to death in the gas explosion. “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that a gas cylinder store had exploded as a result of gas leakage. Further investigations revealed that the fire was ignited as a result of a call being made by an unidentified resident which escalated to other nearby shops and a bungalow behind the shops. Unfortunately, two children ( male and female) lost their lives and multiple burn casualties were recorded; a total of Twenty Three (23) in number,” he said.

Ndidi Nwuneli, founder of LEAP Africa and co-founder of Sahel Consulting, has been appointed to the board of trustees of The Rockefeller Foundation. According to a statement released by the foundation, Nwuneli was appointed on the board alongside Agnes Binagwaho, the vice-chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. British Airways flight heading to Abuja from London on Tuesday returned to Heathrow Airport after the plane lost one of its engines mid-air. The airline confirmed that BA 083 flight returned to Heathrow and was met by emergency services as a precaution measure after what it called “a minor technical issue.” In a mail sent to THISDAY, the airline said, “For your information, the aircraft experienced a minor technical issue and our pilots elected to return to Heathrow. “In terms of the emergency services meeting the aircraft, this is standard practice. “Our teams looked after our customers last night, providing them with overnight accommodation. We’re sorry to our customers for the delay to their travel plans.”

Twitter is set to permanently delete inactive accounts from December 11 that have not been used for more than six months. The action will also impact accounts belonging to the deceased. In a statement given to The Verge, Twitter said that as part of its commitment to serve the public conversation, it is working to clean up inactive accounts to present more accurate, credible information people can trust across the platform. "Part of this effort is encouraging people to actively log-in and use Twitter when they register an account, as stated in our 'Inactive Accounts Policy'. "We have begun proactive outreach to many accounts who have not logged into Twitter in over six months to inform them that their accounts may be permanently removed due to prolonged inactivity," said Twitter. The authorities of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, have expelled six students for bullying and beating up a female student identified to be Boluwatife Adekunle, a few weeks ago outside the campus of the institution, inside a private hostel on November 16. The expelled students include; Popoola Olaniyi, 300L; Oluwadare Tobiloba, 200l;  Nandi Jessica,200L;  Ajuwon Emmanuella, 100L;  Emmanuel Taiwo100L and Alao Cecilia 100L. The expulsion was confirmed by the deputy director, corporate communications of FUTA, Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo, on Tuesday. Adegbenro said the development was as a result of the disciplinary panel set up by the management of the institution concerning the matter and adjudged them culpable of gross misconduct and breach of the university matriculation oath. Four people died and some 150 were slightly injured after a powerful 6.4 magnitude rocked Albania early on Tuesday, authorities said. A man in his fifties jumped out of his building in the town of Kurbin in a panic and died, the defence ministry said. The bodies of a man and a woman were removed from rubble in Thumane, north of the capital Tirana, it said. A fourth body was found in the coastal town of Durres. At least 150 people with injuries were being treated in hospitals in Tirana and Durres, Health Minister Ogerta Manasterliu said. It is the second time in two months that Albania has been hit by a significant earthquake. In September, a 5.6-magnitude tremor hit roughly the same area and caused dozens of injuries. It was said to be Albania’s most powerful earthquake in 30 years.
