Two new world champions were crowned at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view at Sam’s Town Live Friday night. The undefeated RUSH defeated Matt Taven to become the first Mexican-born ROH World Champion in the main event. The death toll in the Yellow Fever outbreak in Bauchi State has reportedly increased to 16 out of the 20 people confirmed to be infected following the recent outbreak of the disease. The executive chairman of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, gave the update in an interview with reporters in his office in Bauchi on Friday night, Punch reports. Mohammed disclosed that no fewer than 119 suspected cases of Yellow Fever was recorded out of which 20 cases were confirmed, with 16 of them dead. We realise that all the people that rejected vaccination are the ones dying. The last three victims four days ago refused the vaccine and all three were infected. They took them to a traditional healer who did his own work, but the two were still unconscious. They were later taken to Bauchi, but all of them died. He said all the cases were from Alkaleri local government area of the state.

The National Broadcasting Commission has warned the organizers of Big Brother Naija over ‘unwholesome’ contents that breach its code shared on TV channels where the reality show is aired. NBC Director General Mallam Ishaq Kawu, during a press conference in Abuja also revealed that 45 broadcasting stations were fined in the second quarter of 2019 for breaching its rule of broadcast. According to Kawu, most of the TV stations were fined between April to June 2019 over their political programmes. A breakdown of the offences, which were allegedly committed between April and June, according to Kawu, include breaching broadcasting code on hate speech, use of vulgar lyrics and obscene content. Kawu berated African Independent Television (AIT) for defying all actions to ensure compliance with the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. PWInsider reports that John Morrison has signed a deal to return to WWE. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Morrison won season three of Tough Enough in 2002 and spent nine years in WWE before leaving in 2011. An American man has died after drowning during an underwater proposal to his girlfriend while on holiday in Tanzania. Steven Weber, from Louisiana, planned his proposal to girlfriend Kenesha Antoine around the couple's unique accommodation. They were staying in a wooden cabin that was partially submerged on the lower level, allowing residents to look out under the sea. On Thursday 19 September, Steven swam underwater, up to the glass window in the cabin, where he held up a piece of paper for Kenesha who was watching from inside. Tragically, the note read: "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But… Everything I love about you, I love more every day!" Footage of the proposal - recorded by Kenesha and later posted on Facebook - shows Steven turning over the piece of paper to reveal the all-important question. "Will you please be my wife? American actor, Kevin Hart is off the hook for $60 million after a judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the woman in Hart's hotel room sex tape extortion scandal. RadarOnline.com reports exclusively that a judge dismissed the complaint for "lack of subject matter jurisdiction" and for "lack of diversity jurisdiction." Sabbag claimed Hart and Jackson set her up by installing cameras "without her knowledge or consent, while she was engaged in private, consensual sexual relations" with the 40-year-old comedian. But the judge found that the lawsuit did not properly identify Fameolous as a LLC (limited liability company), and therefore the court does not have jurisdiction. "Because the Complaint alleges the citizenship of Defendant Fameolous, Ent LLC as if it were a corporation, rather than a limited liability company, the Complaint has not properly alleged the citizenship of that party," the court papers read, according to Radar. There has been a fire incident at the Head Office of Unity Bank Plc on Victoria Island, Lagos, on Monday morning. Videos posted on social media by witnesses showed parts of the building on fire with the flames spreading to at least three floors. The fire which started early in the morning has been brought under control by officials of the fire service, the bank said in a statement on Twitter. According to the bank, there was no casualty or loss of lives in the fire and observations as of 8:48 am showed that it did not affect the banking hall or “other strategic business areas”. The cause of the fire is yet to be known....

One person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting in Washington D.C. Thursday night, police say. An alert issued by the D.C. Police Department says officers are looking for information on two male suspects in a light colored Nissan sedan armed with an AK style rifle. Though it appeals the suspects are still at large, law enforcement officers told Reuters it is not considered an “active shooter” situation. The gunfire broke out in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Columbia Road Northwest, according to police. The Columbia Heights neighborhood is about two miles north of the White House. “Tonight at approximately 10 p.m. members of the Third District of the Metropolitan Police Department received a call for the sounds of gunshots,” Commander Stuart Emerman told reporters at a press briefing. A 20-year-old student of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Bukola Odeyemi, has allegedly stabbed her lover, John Iju, to death. The 300-level student of the Department Of Biology Education allegedly stabbed Iju at Treasure Base Hostel, Iworoko-Ekiti, for refusing to give her N2,500 to make her hair. According to media report, residents rushed to the apartment following the cry for help by the deceased. The incident was said to have occurred around 10:00pm. An eyewitness, who asked not to be named, wondered why a girl would kill her boyfriend over money to make her hair. A staff of University of Lagos (UNILAG) staff identified as Sunday Meshioye reportedly committed suicide by drinking Sniper after facing a disciplinary panel set up to investigate an incident he was allegedly involved in. The deceased faced the disciplinary panel after the UNILAG bus he was driving got burnt. It was gathered that Meshioye took the deadly pesticide on Wednesday, September 11, a day after facing the disciplinary panel. Meshioye was rushed to the university’s health centre before being transferred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi Araba area where he died. Kenya on Friday began adding a malaria vaccine to its routine immunization schedule for babies and toddlers, becoming the third African country to roll out the vaccine for a disease that threatens children across the continent. Malaria, which kills one child globally every two minutes, is the top killer of children under five in the east African country. The vaccine - the world’s first against malaria - will be administered to children under two and could be crucial to efforts to combat the disease, health officials said. Other measures, such as nets to protect people from the mosquitoes that carry the malaria parasite, have not proven adequate to halt transmission, the director general of Kenya’s health ministry, Wekesa Masasabi, told Reuters. “We still have an incidence of 27% (malaria infection) for children under five,” Masasabi said before Friday’s launch of the vaccine in the western county of Homa Bay. The Federal Government has directed telecommunication operators, through the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) to block about 9.2 million sim cards without proper registration. The directive followed the submission of the short-term performance by the NCC as directed by the Minister of Communications Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami. Recall that Pantami had directed all Agencies and Parastatals under his purview to submit their baseline short-term performance targets report. Based on the directive, the NCC submitted its report in which it stated the figures of improperly registered SIM cards in use around the country. The Commission in its report disclosed that an estimated nine million two hundred thousand (9.2M) SIM cards did not comply with the proper procedures of SIM registration. All federal government staff across all the ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) who are not enrolled on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) will not get paid until they are able to do so.  The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed disclosed this Tuesday at the public presentation of the medium term expenditure framework and fiscal strategy paper (MTEF/FSP). The minister said this is critical to block leakages and reduce recurrent expenditure of the federal government. She said “personnel cost (inclusive of Pension Costs) at over N3.0 trillion has continued to rise. The Federal High Court, sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has summoned founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo and Mrs Busola Dakolo to appear before it within 14 days. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested alleged looters of Shoprite, a departmental chain store. Irate Nigerians had attacked South African brands in a reprisal following the recent xenophobia attack in South Africa. Area Commander of Shangotedo, Gbolahan Olugbemi, said a total of 125 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack on Shoprite with 90 per cent of the stolen goods recovered. According to the police, 112 of those arrested were found in possession of stolen items and have been charged to court. Meanwhile, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has visited the affected shopping malls. According to him, at least 5,000 may have lost their jobs as a result of the attack on the malls. A senior lecturer at the Ondo State University of Technology, Okitipupa, Prof Gideon Okedayo, has been kidnapped. Okedayo was seized at a boundary between the Akunnu Akoko area of Ondo and Igara in Auchi, Edo State, on Thursday evening. According to media report, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities at the institution, Dipo Akomolafe, confirmed the news  on Friday. He said, “What we learnt was that Prof Okedayo was on transit in Edo State when the gunmen seized him. “His driver managed to escape the attackers but he was not lucky enough and was seized by the hoodlums. “The driver managed to visit a police station to report the incident.” Chairman of the Joint Action Committee of the university’s staff union, Dayo Temola, also confirmed the incident in a statement. Former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has died. He was 95. According to ZimLive, the news was confirmed by two sources. He died in a hospital in Singapore on Friday morning. According to The Mirror, Human Rights Watch Southern African director Dewa Mavhinga revealed that credible family sources said the former leader had died. BBC News also confirmed Mugabe's death. Mugabe served as prime minister of Zimbabwe from 1980 to 1987 and then as president from 1987 to 2017. Tributes started pouring in on Friday morning. Fadzayi Mahere, Zimbabwe's Education, Sport, Art and Culture Secretary, tweeted:  "Rest In Peace, Robert Mugabe. My response to your passing is complicated. I’m going to write a long piece. However, for now, deepest condolences to his family."

Petty, who has a criminal record, came under scrutiny for carrying a loaded weapon during an Instagram Live video. Many pointed out that the 41-year-old ex convict came off supervised probation just last year.
