A$AP Rocky Released, Allowed To Leave Sweden; Trump Takes Credit.

A$AP Rocky has been released from a Swedish prison and allowed to return home to the U.S. The news was reported in a tweet by President Trump on Friday.

"A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden. It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!" Trump tweeted.

The president was disappointed when Swedish officials charged Rocky last week, rather than release him.

At the start of Rocky's trial this week, Trump sent a special envoy from the U.S. State Department to show the Swedes he meant business.

The rapper, who's real name is Rakim Mayers, pleaded not guilty to assaulting an Afghan migrant who hit his bodyguard with headphones during a scuffle on June 30.

The prosecutor asked for a 6 month prison sentence on day 3 of the trial. But Rocky offered to do community service work instead of jail time, The Sun reports.

A$AP, who wore a black suit rather than the green prison clothes he was issued. He told the judge: "You know my address, you know my lawyer's address. I'm into charity work."

His speedy trial came just days after he was charged with assault. The rapper was held in jail for a month.

Since being elected president in 2016, Trump has been credited with the release of multiple Black Americans jailed in foreign countries.
