Mel B has revealed that ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy will always be ‘the love of her life’.
The Spice Girls singer has opened up about the father of her 12-year-old daughter Angel Murphy Brown, not long after sharing the status of her undying love for him in her autobiography released last November.
Speaking in her upcoming interview on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, the 43-year-old detailed how she first met the Golden Globe winner, 58, who she called her ‘soul mate’.
In her interview, obtained by The Mirror, Mel said: ‘We had something special that I’ve never really truly felt with anybody else.
‘I’ve thought I’ve had it, but they’ve lied. His was pure. He is the love of my life. He always will be.
‘He showed me what true love feels like, and for that I have the utmost admiration and respect for him.’
Mel said their relationship, which saw them planning a marriage, became rocky after he questioned the paternity of their unplanned pregnancy.
In response, the American’s Got Talent judge said she fled to Leeds from the USA, in the hopes of Eddie following her to win her back.
But then, the Dreamgirls actor told a journalist in a TV interview that he questioned if he was the father and would need a DNA test to believe it. The I Want You Back singer said her ex now ‘regrets’ saying it, and the former couple had ‘planned that baby together’ and were madly in love but it just went dramatically wrong.
