Leonardo DiCaprio's latest film, The Revenant (directed by Mexican film director, Alejandro González Iñárritu), is set to be released in theaters in December 2015. And now, he has opened up about the difficult sacrifices he had to make for his involvement in the film that might finally win him an Academy Award.The movie is about a man named Hugh Glass (played by DiCaprio) who is a 19th-century frontiersman who suffers a violent bear attack. Also starring in the film is actor Tom Hardy.
In a recent Yahoo interview, DiCaprio explains how difficult making this movie really was."I can name 30 or 40 sequences that were some of the most difficult things I've ever had to do," DiCaprio said. "Whether it's going in and out of frozen rivers, or sleeping in animal carcasses, or what I ate on set.
[I was] enduringfreezing cold and possible hypothermia constantly."
The Role Was Turned Down By Several Actors
"The truth is that I knew what I was getting into," the actor told Yahoo."I certainly don't eat raw bison liver on a regular basis," DiCaprio admitted. "When you see the movie, you'll see my reaction to it, because Alejandro kept it in. It says it all. It was an instinctive reaction."
Difficult, But No Regrets
The actor says he does not regret taking on the lead role of the film.
