Amotekun begins Oyo operation in July, says Governor Makinde.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State wednesday said Operation Amotekun would become operational in July.

Makinde stated this in his address at the first anniversary of the Oyo State House of Assembly at Agodi, Ibadan.

The governor said, “We are constituting the Amotekun Corps which, as you are aware, will complement the efforts of the federal security in securing our state. Within the next one month, they will be fully operational.

“Once the House of Assembly approves the choice of the commandant and chairman, it will be operational.”

Iranian women's football team goalkeeper, Zohreh Koudaei, has been accused of being a man by the Jordan Football Association after she saved two penalties for a crucial win against Jordan. As a result of these saves in a penalty shoot out which ended 4-2, Iran earned a place at the Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in the country’s history. The cup will take place in India in 2022.
