Eminem had a close encounter with an intruder who was able to get past security and into his living room.
Police sources tell TMZ that the home invasion occurred earlier this month around 4 a.m. at the rapper’s Clinton Township house inside a gated community near Detroit. The suspect, 26-year-old Matthew David Hughes, used a paving stone to smash a kitchen window before climbing inside the house.
An alarm went off, waking Eminem from his sleep while his security slept. Em got up to find the intruder in his living room. He called out for security before the guards came running to his aid.
Police were then called to the home. Hughes was arrested and booked on felony charges of first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of a building. It appears that the intruder wasn’t looking to rob the house, and seemingly wanted a face-to-face with Eminem.
Hughes remains in custody on a $50,000 bond at the Macomb County Jail.
