The father of two little girls recently adopted by Madonna is claiming he didn’t understand that the arrangement was permanent, and wouldn’t have agreed to the situation if he’d known.
Adam Mwale is the biological father of Esther and Stella, 4-year old Malawi twins. Madonna confirmed on Instagram that she’s officially completed the process of adopting the two girls.
But somehow, Mwale says he was misled about the new situation. “I was told from the start that Esther and Stella were going to a rich woman’s home abroad,” the father told reporters, “that she would give them a good education, then return them to me, to live with me and help all of my family.”
Mwale’s wife died giving birth to the girls, and he subsequently put his daughters in an orphanage. While he’s been accused of “abandoning” the girls, he claims, “Everyone in the village knows I just wanted the best for them.”
That apparently didn’t mean adoption. “The orphanage boss told me it would be a wonderful chance for my little girls, and for their brother and sisters at home,” says Mwale.“I was told to agree with everything in court. I did not believe I would never see my girls again.
“Now you are telling me the adoption is permanent,” he added. “That cannot be true; I don’t want it to be true. I am their father and I will always be their father.”
Meanwhile, Madonna was initially coy about the situation, denying that she’d been to Malawi until she eventually confirmed the rumors on Instagram. That post is captioned, “I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time.”
The pop legend has not yet commented on these allegations from Mwale. While the adoption process appears to have been handled officially, it certainly must be a confusing and stressful time for the young girls.

In another photo of her bloody left arm, he wrote, "I'm sorry Bianca.” The bloody knife is seen on the passenger seat next to Devins' body. Instagram followers recognized the teenager from the photos and geolocated Clark using the metadata in the photos. Police received calls around 7:20 a.m., including a call from Clark himself.
