Nigerian gospel artiste, Osinachi Okoro, popularly known as Sinach, has become the first African to top the Billboard Christian Songwriters Chart. Her song 'Waymaker,' originally released in 2016, recently gained massive popularity following performances by The Elevation Worship and other Christian rock bands.
Sinach who is s a senior worship leader with Loveworld Ministries popularly known as Christ Embassy is renown for hit worship songs like Way Maker, More of You, I know who I Am and among others.
The Billboard USA is the music industry standard record chart for songs published weekly by Billboard magazine.
The chart rankings are based on sales (both online and physical), radio play and online streaming.
The singer reveals that she has been on the number one spot for seven weeks running.
The list also features other notable songwriters including Jason Ingram, Matthew West, Lauren Daigle, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, Jeff Pardo, Paul Mabury, Hank Bentley and Ethan Hulse.
Sinach while expressing gratitude to God, stated that she is the first black person and first African to achieve the feat.
