Title reigns are either determined by professional wrestling matches or are awarded to a wrestler, as a result of the culmination of various scripted storylines. Currently there are four active singles championships, one active tag team championship, and a championship for the female wrestlers. Seven wrestlers currently hold the championships. The list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout. The following is correct as of May 12, 2016.

At the top of WWE's championship hierarchy, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is currently held by Roman Reigns, who is in his third reign after winning the title on April 3, 2016 at WrestleMania XXXII. The former champion was Triple H.

The two secondary titles in WWE are the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the WWE United States Championship. The current Intercontinental Champion is The Miz, who is in his fifth reign after winning the title on April 4, 2016 on Raw. The United States Champion is Kalisto, who is in his second reign after defeating Alberto Del Rio at the Royal Rumble. The WWE Tag Team Championship is held by The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston), who defeated The Prime Time Players (Darren Young & Titus O'Neil) on August 23, 2015 at SummerSlam.

There is one championship that is challenged by female wrestlers.
Charlotte is presently in her first reign as WWE Women's Champion as a result of defeating Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch for the brand new vacant title on April 3, 2016 at WrestleMania XXXII.

The South African high commission in Nigeria has shut down operations temporarily. According to eNCA, a South African media house, the shut down was necessitated by the need for safety of workers in the commission.
