The night before they battle The Usos at WrestleMania, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley will induct their very close friend Jacqueline into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“It’s an honor,” Bubba Ray told WWE.com. “They gave her the choice of anybody she wanted to induct her, and she immediately said The Dudley Boyz. Me and D-Von always had a really great relationship [with Jacqueline]. We have a ton of respect for her abilities and toughness in the ring.”
D-Von expounded on the brothers’appreciation for the former WWE Women’s Champion.
“Jacqueline was one of the toughest women I’ve ever been in the ring with,” he said. “She’s one of the strongest women I’ve ever faced, too. She hit extremely hard.”
The relationship between Jacqueline and The Dudleys wasn’t just based on in-ring conflict though; it went beyond the squared circle.
“Jacqueline and I were like brother and sister,” D-Von said. “We rode together and even roomed together sometimes. We took care of each other. Whenever we needed someone to talk to, we were there for each other. We were family.”
“Outside of the ring, she was always a very fun, pleasant person to be around, always laughing and joking around,” Bubba said. “But when it came time to do business, she was stern and knew what she was doing.“
Ultimately, for The Dudleys, one word comes to mind when they think about Jacqueline: Respect.
“One of the biggest compliments I can pay Jackie is that she’s one of the boys,” Bubba Ray said. “If you’re a wrestler, you know what that means and how important that is. Me and D-Von are very proud and honored to induct Jacqueline into the WWE Hall of Fame. She deserves it.”
