  President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service. This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina in Abuja Tuesday. According to the statement:  “Those involved are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar. “President Buhari thanks the outgoing Service Chiefs for what he calls their “overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to our dear country,” wishing them well in their future endeavours. “The new Service Chiefs are Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. South Korean actress Song Yoo-jung has died, The Hollywood Reporter reports.  The K-drama star, who was 26, was found dead in Seoul, South Korea, on Saturday. While an official cause of death has not been released, Song’s agency, Sublime Artist Agency, said in a statement that the actress died suddenly and that her family honored Song with a funeral on Monday.

Popular South African Musician, Master KG has revealed that Burna Boy wasn’t paid to be featured on the remix of his hit song, Jerusalem. In an exclusive interview on Zoom with The Punch, Master KG said the main reason why Burna Boy was not paid for featuring in the remix of his song was that the original song was one of Burna Boy’s favorite which made him liaise with him to bring out the remix of the song, Jerusalem. “I did not pay Burna Boy to feature on the remix of the song, Jerusalem. There was no paid fee for this feature to happen. The amazing thing about the song is that it was already popular. Master KG added:  “I also feel that the reason there was no money involved is that Burna Boy also loves the song and he related well with the song. It was not something he did for money instead he did it because it comes from his heart.”

Larry King, the longtime CNN host who became an icon through his interviews with countless newsmakers and his sartorial sensibilities, has died. He was 87. King hosted "Larry King Live" on CNN for over 25 years, interviewing presidential candidates, celebrities, athletes, movie stars and everyday people. He retired in 2010 after taping more than 6,000 episodes of the show. A statement was posted on his verified Facebook and Twitter accounts announcing his passing. His son, Chance, confirmed King's death Saturday morning. May his soul rest in peace.

  Controversial Instagram blogger, Gist Lover Blog alleged in a post that the actress is having an affair with Oshiomole. Sharing a picture collage of Omotola and the politician, it wrote; “Today is the sabbath day so we go keep am holy,we go just dey post pictures,maybe tomorrow when no be Holy day,we go give details,abi how una see am?i come in peace.” In reaction, the beautiful actress called out the blogger daring whoever is behind the faceless account to prove the affair under 24 hours. US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed Nigerian-born Funmi Olorunnipa Badejo into his cabinet. Badejo served as ethics counsel in the same office toward the end of the Obama administration. In the meantime, Joe Biden will be sworn in on January 20 as the 46th US president.

A Corps member serving in Akwa Ibom has reportedly been arrested for allegedly hacking a young man to death with a machete. Facebook user, Godwin George, who narrated the said event on his page, said he saw a large crowd attacking a lady on Sunday morning, January 10, around 9.30am at Abak road while she was being stripped naked.  According to Mr.George, he was told that the lady identified as Odume Princess Paschaline, was apprehended with bloodstains all over her while trying to jump out from a fence at the house where she had gone to hookup with the victim.  Consequently, after an interrogation over the bloodstains, the University Of Nigeria Nsukka graduate was reportedly beaten to a pulp after they discovered the crime she allegedly committed before she was taken to the Police Headquarters in Akwa Ibom. 

WWE champion Drew McIntyre has been ruled out of action for a couple of weeks as he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier. Because of that, the Scottish Psychopath was placed under quarantine and was not able to face arch-nemesis Randy Orton in the main event of this week's WWE RAW.

  A Nigerian man, his wife, and children were burnt to death in a fatal accident along Nasarawa-Abuja expressway on Saturday, January 9. The man, identified as Prince Nuhu Hamman 'Gabdo, was a staff of the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) in Abuja. Hamman'Gabdo and his family were returning to Abuja after a visit to his country home in Gashaka council area when the crash occurred. His car reportedly collided with a Siena vehicle coming in the opposite direction, leading to a huge inferno that engulfed both cars, killing all the occupants. One of his friends, Ado Adamu Also, wrote on Facebook:  'INNALILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJI'UN. Indeed, the sudden dead of Prince Nuhu Hamman'Gabdo who perished in a ghastly motor accident, to say the least, is very depressing.'  

Ex- BBNaija housemate,  Erica Nlewedim recently announced she is contemplating leaving social media. A fashion designer had issued a stern warning to people attacking the reality TV star on Twitter. Reacting to this, Erica wondered why she was being dragged through the mud. Her words; “I think it’s time to leave social media for you guys”.
